Audiobooks-Worth the Effort?

Today my book, “Love’s Journey Home,” was signed into a contract with a producer. It will become an audiobook this year!

This is a new venture working with ACX.com. I was able to search for producers wanting to narrate, and then choose the style, voice (complete with accents or dialect), and offer an audition with a sampling of the story. I found a fellow who has a wonderful storytelling voice and will definitely put the drama into the story.

His audition came back today and I was very impressed! I look forward to working with this producer, and we plan to have the audiobook available this spring.

Are Audiobooks worth it?

A while back, I featured a fellow author who has had great success with his audiobook series. As an award-winning author, I expected great insight.pexels-photo-374866.jpeg

People are busier than ever, and many do not have time to pick up a physical book. But, they will put an earbud in their ear and listen while they commute or wait for an appointment. What’s easier? Reading a book on your phone, or plugging in your earbud?

According to statista.com, audiobooks have grown from 3,000 to almost 60,000 over the last ten years. Technology is winning over printed books in a huge way.

So I decided to get on the bandwagon.  Look for my audiobook sometime in April!
